Tyler Perry's Good Deeds

Good Deeds is a thought provoking movie about living your life to the fullest. You meet Wesley (Tyler Perry) and quickly discover that he does everything to please his mother, his fiance, and his father. Yet he sacrifices his dream in the process. Living to please others and their dreams for your life is a dream killer. You are only given one life to live and if you are following someones dream for your life then you are not fulfilling God's destiny for your life.

Call me a hopeless romantic but I believe in true love. I believe that when you find your #1 cheerleader  or hype man (one of my guy friends told me it is insult to call a guy a cheerleader) that cheers you on to follow your dreams - then you have found your soul mate.  Don't settle for the person you think you should marry, fall for the person you can't imagine your life without. I've met couples who found their best friends and I'm convinced that they're soul mates. Watching Good Deeds reminded me that it is worth the wait. Of course this my interpretation of the movie - so you be judge - GO SEE IT!

I Don't Know How She Does It

GIVE IT A CHANCE ....

I realize that this movie had really bad reviews but even critics make mistakes - so give this move a chance you will be pleasantly surprised. The story is about a woman who wants to juggle it all but things are starting to unravel so she has to make a very hard choice. So if someone is always saying to you "I don't know how you do it" this movie will be a great autobiography for you.  As a fellow workaholic I know how sometimes our priorities get out of whack but it only takes one step to start heading in the right direction.

I don't know about you but I often feel like movies can be a cheap therapy session. When a movie makes me want to evaluate my own life then I think "free therapy for me".  If you want to watch a movie that will spark a "check in how are we doing" conversation your Prince Charming then I would recommend you rent the movie or put it in your Netflix queue. Rather you confess to your man that you feel just like Kate or you vow never to be like Kate, this movie will get the two of you talking.  It's a movie to help you RECONNECT with each other.

Now for all my single ladies - it still is a good chick flick to watch. It will also remind you that when you do finally find the man you want to spend the rest of your life with that you have to pour into that relationship often. You have to water and nurture that love bud for it to fully flourish and grow.  RENT IT TODAY!

Waiting For Forever

Netflix New Release - MUST SEE

The intro of Waiting for Forever is like watching a Charlie Chapman movie. The flashback frames is a brilliant way to show a child's view point of a tragic memory. Tragedy can often leave a person feeling numb and stuck in time which is the case for Will (Tom Sturridge). You quickly empathize with Will and want happiness to enter his world. You want the dream of his version of a love story to come true. You become hooked and want to know if Will and Emma (Rachel Bilson) will work out.

This definitely a CHICK FLICK. Don't waste your breathe asking your man to watch his with you. He will not be impressed since the movie was designed with a girls heart in mind. So call your girls over, grab a glass of wine, some snacks and settle in for a heartfelt movie. Oh grab a box of tissues too, you may find your eyes watering if you fall in love with Will.

Also if you are digging the soundtrack, you can find it on iTunes. My favorite songs are Worlds Apart and Worlds Collide by The Mostar Diving Club. Yeaaaaaaaah I found new songs for my road trip playlist :)

Love, Wedding, Marriage

Love, Wedding, Marriage kept coming up as a must see movie in my Netflix  suggestion queue. I thought I would take a chance and watch it while I work on a crochet project.

In the first moments of the film I could tell it would be a sappy romance - "Once upon a time..."fairytale type movie. The movie challenges the belief can a couple really love happily ever after? Ava (Mandy Moore) is so obsessed with the "Happily Ever After" theory that she's doing everything she can to save her parents marriage while neglecting her own.

Was the movie predictable? Yes, but that is to be expected in a sappy chick flick. If you are looking for a light hearted click flick, then put this in your queue on Netflix or rent through Redbox.

Love, Wedding, Marriage is an okay movie to watch when you want some noise in the background while your folding laundry or working on a craft project. I would not watch it for a date night movie.

The Descendants

In the trailer for Descendants it is clear that Matt King (George Clooney) desperately wanted to runaway from the reality of his world. It was the running scene that made me want to go see the movie but it was the heartfelt depiction of Matt King's character that made me stay glued to my seat.

I think every married and engaged couple should see the movie. I think in the world of divorce and calling it quits, you need to be reminded that true love is worth fighting for. Don't get so lost in the day to day stuff that you forget why you said your vows. It also reminds you how important is to be active in the lives of your children. Continue to create memories that they will always cherish.

This is DEFINITELY a chick flick that even a man can enjoy. So find a babysitter and GO SEE THE MOVIE! You will not regret it.  And for the single ladies - this a great movie for Girls Night.
